Hi, I’m Andrii—a Ukrainian filmmaker and the creator of Hyperdolly.

Hyperdolly began as a practical solution to my own creative challenges. The original goal was to automate motion and timing in hyperlapse shooting to capture shots that simply weren’t possible before. The solution was a motorized dolly—one I had to build myself, as no suitable tools existed on the market at the time.

The first prototype was built in my father’s garage, powered by a motor from an old electric screwdriver. To my surprise, it didn’t just work—it opened up creative possibilities I hadn’t even considered. What started as a personal workaround for a specific task quickly revealed a much broader potential that goes far beyond hyperlapse shooting.

Five years later, Hyperdolly has evolved into a production-ready system—shaped by real-world use on set, direct feedback from working filmmakers, and a relentless focus on refining every detail.

Our approach is built on two core principles: first, a tool must solve real-world production problems, not exist for the sake of technology or business; second, it must be easy to use, so setup complexity never becomes a barrier on set.

Today, Hyperdolly is used by filmmakers around the world. We’re proud to support the professionals who strive for technical perfection and visual excellence in their work.

The Story So Far

First Hyperdolly prototype

2017

The idea of a motorized dolly built for hyperlapse was born. The first prototype was simple, yet the results were stunning—proof that the idea could work.

2020

The vision grew. The decision to turn the concept into a company was made, and development of a device ready for the market began.

2021

Designed in collaboration with Filmotechnic, this was the first version meant for the public. Though it never reached the market due to a failed crowdfunding campaign, it marked a major milestone.

2023

The second market-ready version. Production cost was optimized, and features were enhanced for a wider range of filmmakers. A successful Kickstarter campaign raised $44K, and the first production batch came to life.

With feedback from a worldwide community and gained experience, Hyperdolly was developed further. While it resembles the Kickstarter version, it has been substantially improved.
